The Home Assistant Plus is a comprehensive home inventory software program for managing a variety of items in your home(s). Specific modules are available for Home Inventory, Home Repair, Photography, Music & Video Collections and Financial Assets. All features described below are common to all configurations of the Home Assistant Plus. The Home Assistant home inventory sotware is also a modular product line and support for additional applications can be added at any time.

• Home Inventory

  Standard data entry fields provided for Home Inventory:

  • Item - name of item being inventoried
  • Category/Sub-Category - Type of item, 2-level level choice list, for example Electronics->TV
  • Location/Container - Where located, 2-level choice list, for example Master Bedroom->Wall safe
  • Description - Detailed description of object
  • Material - what item is made of supported by choice list
  • Color - supported by choice list
  • Quantity - number of identical items
  • Unit Value - value of this item
  • Lot Value - computed field (Quantity * Unit Value)
  • Size
  • Detailed Condition - description of condition of item
  • Inventory Code - alphanumeric inventory number assigned by user
  • Cost, Purchase Date, Seller - information on when item was acquired, from who and at what cost
  • Insured value - amount of insurance coverage on item
  • Sold amount, Date, Buyer, Profit - if item is sold, information on sale
  • Note - attachment of rich text format document or simple text note with additional information of interest
  • Pictures - up to 20 pictures of this item may be attached and presented in a picture index, included on formatted reports, and viewed
  • >Action List - a multi-level action list of 24 actions is available for each item
  • User defined information fields - The user may add additional additional text, numeric, date, and computed fields supported by choice lists. The total number of available additional fields is approximately 50. These may be placed on any of the tabbed folders. The user may also customize any of the standard fields provided above.

  Preloaded choice lists provided for Home Inventory Software application:

  The contents of all choice lists are user modifiable. The user may set the choice lists to automatically add any new user entries and may directly edit the contents of the list. The following lists are preloaded by Carlisle Development

  • Category/Sub-Category - This 2-level choice list provides for categorization of items. Top level contains such entries as Electronics, Furniture, Automotive. Each top level entry is supported by its own secondary list. For example Electronics would have a sub-list containing such entries as TV, Stereo, Digital Camera, etc.
  • Color - This 1-level choice list is preloaded with common colors
  • Material - This 1-level choice list is preloaded with common materials

  Choice lists attached to information fields which are not preloaded:

  • >Location/Container - This 2-level choice list provides for definition of where an item is located. The top level would contain entries such as Living Room, Bedroom. Each top level item has its own secondary list of container at the location. For example a Bedroom might contain containers such as closet, hope chest, etc.
  • Buyers&Sellers - This 1-level choice list contains a list of people/companies from which you buy and sell items. This is a specialized choice list which is supported by detailed contact information for each entry (mailing address, e-mail address, phone number, web site).

• Home Repair

  Standard data entry fields provided for Home Repair:

  • Item - name of repair
  • Category/Sub-Category - Type of maintenance, supported by 2-level preloaded choice list, for example Emergency->Water Leak or Periodic Maintenance->Filter replacement
  • Done by Homeowner - Check box used to indicate if service is normally done by home owner
  • Frequency - For periodic items, the planned frequency of repair (e.g. monthly, annually) supported by a choice list.
  • Last Done - Date when service was last performed
  • Next Due - Date of expected next service
  • Cost - Cost of last service
  • Instructions - Detailed explanation of work to be done
  • Contractor Type/Name - Who performs this service supported by a 2-level choice list. To level specified type of contractor for example Plumber, Carpenter. Each top level entry is supported by a list of specific contractor names which contain detailed contact information.
  • On Service Contract - check box indicating this repair item has been contracted for in a service contract
  • Contract Number - number of service contract
  • Special Information - additional important information regarding this item
  • Note - attachment of rich text format document or simple text note with additional information of interest

  • Subject - Person/object being photographed - supported by a choice list
  • Event/Specific - Event at which photo was taken, supported by a 2-level choice list. Top level might contain entries such as Summer Vacation - 2003 or Jim's High School Graduation. Secondary choice list would contain more specific event information such as post graduation party or graduation ceremony.
  • Done by Homeowner - Check box used to indicate if service is normally done by home owner
  • Date - Date when photo was taken
  • Hardcopy printed - If checked indicates that a hardcopy print exists
  • Photo Type - type of photo such as still, landscape, portrait supported by a choice list
  • Equipment - Camera used to take photo, supported by a choice list
  • Description - Detailed description of photo contents
  • Location/Container - Where original exists, supported by a 2-level choice list. Can be used to record physical location and container. For example, Living Room -> Vacation Album or CD Storage->Photo Archive #3
  • Archived - check box indicating that this photo has been archived onto permanent media such as a CD

• Financial Assets

  Standard data entry fields provided for Financial Assets:

  • Asset Name - name of asset
  • Asset Type - Type of asset supported by a choice list containing such items as Mutual Fund, Common Stock, etc.
  • Shares/Units - quantity of asset owned by user
  • Unit Value - Value of each unit
  • Market Value - Computed field equal to Shares/Units * Unit Value
  • Cost Basis - Total cost of this asset
  • Gain/Loss - Computed field equal to Market Value - Cost Basis
  • Purpose of Asset/Specific - Purpose of this asset supported by a 2-level choice list. Top level would contain entries such as Retirement, College Education, etc. Each top level item is supported by a secondary list. For example College Education might contain a secondary list of your children.
  • Diversification Category/Sub-Category - the nature of this asset from a diversification perspective. Top level would contain such entries as Speculative Stock, or Government Backed Security. Each top level would be supported by a secondary list. Speculative stock for example might contain such items as Biotechnology or Telecom.
  • Alternative Investment - This check box indicates that you consider the investment non-traditional
  • Tax Advantaged - This check box indicated that the investment is tax advantaged
  • Brokerage/Broker - Companies/people with whom you engage in financial transactions, supported by a two level choice list. The top level list contains such entries as Brokerage House, Insurance Agent, Financial Planner. Each top level choice is supported by its own secondary list. For example a list of stock brokers or insurance agents with whom you transact business. This list is supported by detailed contact information.
  • Pictures - up to 20 pictures of this item may be attached and presented in a picture index, included on formatted reports, and viewed
